I’ve always been on the lookout for “hipster” restaurants — somewhere unique, somewhere food is great, and somewhere I could take lots of photos. There aren’t a lot of these restaurants in Manila that fit the criteria I mentioned, so I was very excited when I heard about Rustic Mornings by Isabelo.
The restaurant is located (or should I say hidden!) in Marikina. Quite an odd place to find such a great restaurant to be honest since it’s the only one in the area, but also one of the reasons I loved it so much!
Now, before I sing songs of praises for Rustic Mornings by Isabelo, I would just like to quickly mention the one thing I didn’t like: the entrance (see photo below). I was disappointed for a split second when I saw the entrance because I was expecting something… MORE.
Anyway, my disappointment with the entrance was a matter of ancient history when I entered the restaurant — it’s like walking into a magical garden. Every corner is beautifully decorated with colorful ornaments, and the plants made the environment feel cooler.
You can choose 2 dining areas: outdoors or indoors. At first we were seated outdoors, but I was sweating so much that I asked to be transferred to the airconditioned area. Of course, it’s more convenient to be seated indoors because you wouldn’t be worried about sweating your way through your meal, but the ambiance is much more beautiful outdoors. So if you’re not sweaty like I am, I suggest to try the outdoors first.
Here’s the menu:
The food was INCREDIBLE! And I should also mention, reasonably priced. I loved that the portions are generous and their food is very tasty. As you can see with the photo below, I really wanted to try a lot, and may have over ordered. Oops. 🙂
